Situated in a warm beach setting where the population tends to be migratory, The Lighthouse Center is a day program for homeless adults. The center offers shower facilities, case management and life skills training, plus an address and telephone number for homeless individuals to receive mail and phone calls.

Operating year-round, the program is available to residents of Virginia Beach and the surrounding area and to clients of Winter Shelter. Established in 1995, it is primarily funded through grants from the Department of Housing & Urban Development with substantial support from the local community.
